The Paulo Freire Social Justice Charter School (PFSJCS) located in Chicopee focuses on academic excellence and social justice awareness. We foster strong intellectual and ethical foundations to: prepare students to attend and succeed in college, increase community and global understanding and involvement, and inspire future leaders for our society. PFSJCS serves the public school sending districts of Holyoke, West Springfield, Chicopee, and South Hadley . At full enrollment our school offers grades 9-12 and have a maximum enrollment of 320.

We are happy to inform you that at their January 23, 2018 meeting the Mass. Board of Elementary and Secondary Education voted to renew the Paulo Freire Charter for five years beginning in July 2018 and expiring June 30, 2023. We are very grateful for the hard work of our staff, Board and parental community in making this renewal possible.We have already begun to work and meet the requirements.
