After School

Paulo Freire Social Justice Charter School is deeply invested in ensuring that our student’s achieve their fullest potential and to that end, we provide a dynamic, high quality after school program. All students have access to after school. The PFSJCS after school program provides academic support, project support and opportunities to work with tutors. We are now partnered with HCC’s STEM department. The tutors from HCC are more than enthused about providing support to our students here at PFSJ. Tutoring occurs every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 3:10 to 4:15. We provide transportation for our students to Chicopee, Springfield and Holyoke. Students are expected to sign up for tutoring during their lunch time that day. We expect that students come with all of their work materials so that they may be fully supported in completing assignments during tutoring. Trevin Bond is the Supervisor of the After School Tutoring Program. He can be reached at (413) 536-3201 or at Tbond@paulofreirecharterschool.org.

Credit Recovery

PFSJ is providing an After School Credit Recovery Program for our students. This program will run the same days as our After School Tutoring, which occurs every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Students seeking to participate in credit recovery will have to interview with Trevin Bond (After School Coordinator), Akessa Mafi (Credit Recovery Instructor), and Kira Jewett (Principal) to ensure that they qualify for the program. Students will have strict deadlines for applying and completing their individualized programs to receive credits. For more information, please reach out to Trevin Bond at (413) 536-3201 or at Tbond@paulofreirecharterschool.org.
